I thought I'd post this incident here for you all to be amused by:
So, I'm walking to work (as normal) last Friday. Listening to some 'Tunes' (well Alice Cooper / Linkin Park / Rob Zombie at the time). I reach Preston circus and I'm standing waiting to cross the road. Its slow moving traffic and I'm not awake enough to start dodging in between cars. [I'd actually decided that 10mins more in bed was worth missing my morning coffee.] The crossing lights change to green and I start across the road. The car and bike to my left start to drive through the lights and I show my annoyance by shouting at then. They stop and let me progress. Now just as I pass the car it accelerates away only just missing me.
Now I lose it. Properly lose it. See red. Go into a full "Brujah-Style" anger filled temper. This car has driven through a crossing (still on the green man) while I'm on it nearly knocking me down. So I runs after the car. Me - unfit & half-asleep. Car - brand new Mercedes. Who is going to win? Thats right - Me. So I reach this car which has almost stopped (either that or I'm under Celerity) and hit the rear window with my hand (not fist - flat hand). I'm expecting a nice satisfying "thump". It was more of a cracking sound really as I smash a hole in the window. .
So, the police show up and I gets meself arrested. Driver is screaming something about having been driving for 15 years and owning 2 kids. Not that either of these points were relevant. I get to phone work:
"Hi Katie, its Dave. Errr - I'm gonna be a bit late cos I've been arrested"
"Sorry, what?"
"Arrested. So I don't know when I'll be in. Can you let Alex know"
And off we go. I spend a long time in a cold cell shivering. Get printed, DNAed, photographed and finally Cautioned. End up at work 7 hours late.
Now I don't condone my actions - but would advise against:
a. Making me annoyed enough I hit things
b. Hitting the windows on a Mercedes
c. Buying a Mercedes - seems the windows aren't very strong.
For all those who want to see the actual paperwork I'll try and remember to bring it next time. Seems it was up to £1000 of damage.
Dave - not really violent (honest)
